Mallard and Tutorial Attendance	Throughtout Semester	5+5%=10%
Class tests*	Test 1 25th August - 1pm Test 2 6th October - 1pm	10+10%=20%
Laboratories	Throughout Semester Attendance compulsory You must wear COVERED footwear in laboratories.  You will not be allowed to undertake the laboratory without adequate footwear.	10% NOTE: If laboratory attendance is deemed insufficient, your TOTAL mark for this unit will be limited to a maximum of 40%.
Examination	End of Semester 2	60% NOTE:  If your raw mark percentage mark for the exam is less than 40% your TOTAL mark for this unit will be limited to a maximum of 40%.

Anyone who misses a test for legitimate reasons (as verified by the sub-Dean of the Faculty) will have that test assessment percentage added to their final exam assessment percentage (i.e. their final exam will be worth 70% if one test is missed, 80% if both tests are missed).  There is no deferred or supplemental tests available.

- All work submitted must be the individual student's own work.

- Attendance at tutorials will be recorded and participation is expected.  Part of your final assessment (5%) will be based upon your attendance and participation at tutorials.

- Students MUST attend their scheduled laboratory sessions.   Non-attendance (except with a medical certificate) will result in a zero mark for that session.   Failure to complete the laboratory component will be deemed as not having completed the unit, and will result in a grade of FC, which means 'failed due to non-completion of a component.   If you miss a laboratory, it is your responsibility to contact Mr Haque to reschedule the session.    There are NO EXEMPTIONS for laboratories ie if you are repeating this unit, you must complete the laboratory sessions also.

- Prelab exercises are to be completed PRIOR to lab attendance.  Non-completion of this component will result in a 20% penalty of that lab mark.

- The penalty for late submission of Mallard homework problems will be 10% per calendar day.

- Guest lecturers are scheduled for during the semester and the content of these lectures IS EXAMINABLE.

- There is NO SUPPLEMENTARY assessment available.
